August 1st 2013  "The Church Across the Street" A novel about growing up in the sixties is released.

First Review!

This is a very special read, and worth much more that the tiny Kindle price!
Neil Griffin is a new author for me, and he's one of those gifted writers who can
describe childhood in a way both touching and hilarious.

He manages to deal with the English Catholic-Protestant divide with a lot of common sense,
combining respect and humour, expressing a boy's view about not being able to go to the school or the church nearest his home, hence having different groups of friends.

But mostly the story is just about growing up in the days before too much telly, internet, smartphones
and suchlike, when teachers still wielded the belt. As the writer grows older, shyly has his first girlfriend, his life becomes more adventurous and towards the end of the book it becomes a bit of a thriller.

I've called this author "an English Frank McCourt" and don't doubt that this book will be a great success.
